Marco Innocenti is a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Milan and the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Within the framework of Responsible Innovation, his research combines a moral hermeneutic perspective (derived from postphenomenology) and virtue and narrative ethics. He intends to understand how the concepts and narratives with which the members of a start-up make sense of the technology under development can shape their values and responsibility-taking as innovators. Special attention is given to AI-driven innovation, especially in the field of AgriTech start-ups.
His thesis is financed through an industrial PhD scheme involving the ANRT (‘Association Nationale de la Recherche et de la Technologie’) and the Franco-Norwegian start-up Beefutures, which is developing AI-powered solutions for biomonitoring through beehives.
