Paulina Kowalicka is a Researcher in Legal Informatics at the Faculty of Law of the University of
Milan.
She developed her research in the field of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital policies in
Europe and the international landscape, with a particular focus on the Chinese and the American
approaches.
She is currently working on the European project SMIDGE, an EU-funded Horizon Europe research
project dedicated to exploring the impact of disinformation, fake news and conspiracy theories on the
middle-aged population.
Paulina is Managing director of the Information Society Law Center (ISLC).
In June 2024, she received an Executive Master’s degree in General Management from the Milan
School of Management of the University of Milan and she attended the Advanced Training Course
“DPO Academy” for the positions of Data Protection Officer, Privacy Manager and Privacy Specialist,
at the law firm Rödl & Partner in Milan.
She is the author of several contributions, in Italian and English, on the research topics she deals with
and is involved in teaching and coordination activities within the Chair of Legal Informatics.
